Anna Minzer is a photo-based mixed media artist currently earning her Master of Fine Art in Photography and Related Media at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Minzer first studied photography in middle school and began experimenting with photomontage during high school. Minzer went on to study art at the College of Santa Fe from 2004-2008 where she received a BFA in Mixed Media Studio

Themes of liminality, metamorphosis, and puncturing facades guide Minzer to experiment with the photographic medium through collage, mixed media applications, and unconventional darkroom processes.

In 2018, Anna Minzer had her first solo exhibition at the Dallas, Texas based gallery, Mighty Fine Arts. By 2022, Mighty Fine Arts held a second solo exhibition for her work entitled, They’ve Been Waiting for Me a Long Time

At the Rochester Institute of Technology, Minzer has independently researched plant-based darkroom developers and perfected her own recipe for a spinach-crafted chemistry.

Having taught undergraduate courses in Digital Photography I, she has also led a Plant Chemistry workshop and will be TAing Art and Ecology this coming semester.
